The offered item is an original 1926
Gene Tunney Movie Window Display titled "The
Fighting Marine". Extremely rare silent film (11" x
21") Theatre display is in original frame as issued in 1926. Tunney
played Dick Farrington, a reporter protecting an heiress played by
Marjorie Day from a host of greedy enemies. Tex Rickard suggested that
Gene Tunney make the movie in order to attract attention for Tunney's First
Fight with Heavyweight Champion Jack
Dempsey in September, 1928. This Theatre window display would be
equal to a full ONE SHEET movie poster back
then and was set up in the theatres lobby. All
hand done with original crystal clear photographs that feature
Gene Tunney who was Heavyweight Champion Of The World from 1926 to 1928
and defeated Jack Dempsey twice. Has the Patheserial logo under Tunney
credit. Incredible item for the boxing and or movie collector...
